Up and running
Just got my first site up on Micosoft Adcenter http://www.gaswaterconversion.net/. It's promoting HHO kits for you car to save on fuel. It's been up a few days and only a few clicks but I've been tweeking the contant to gain rankings. It's still a learning process. This site (template) was provided by Free Site Sign Up. However I just started work on my own site which I hope to have done within a few weeks.

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners
So for all of us new (Veterans are very welcome) to the Affiliate marketing business, I decided to start this blog. Anyone looking for tips, info or to give their 2 cents feel free to speak your mind. All I ask is that you keep it respectful. If you disagree with what someone has said, make your point but don’t bash them for theirs. …So thank you in advance!
*FYI, I am putting my affiliate links in here to the sites I found helpful so far, and anyone else can feel free to do the same.*
So, I’ll start with my story and a review of where I am thus far,
About a month ago I saw a commercial for Anthony Morrison’s “Advertising Profits From Home” book. I’ve been looking for a way to make a little extra cash. Ever skeptical of infomercials, I still made the call. As I was making the purchase they tried to sell me a million other things. One of which was a DVD that was to give me 3 steps to fast profits. Well the DVD was $10 S&H, and to my dismay only 5 minutes long. His 3 fast steps…..wait for it……..1) read the book, 2) pick something to promote and 3) advertise. No S@%T! There went 10 dollars.
Next a company, PMI, representing him called me. They said I was selected for his Marketing Success Academy. I would be in a group of a few select people to receive one on one training that would put me ahead of everyone else. However at the very end they wanted me to pay $4,860! They said they would guarantee I would make that money back in 6 months with their help or they would work with me until I did. I ultimately turned them down. At this point they became pushy and rude. The guy said to me after I told him I think I can do this on my own, “So what your saying is you’re not going to do this at all then?”. Basically trying to tell me I can’t do it without them.
So now I’m thinking Anthony Morrison is a scam. But to be fair I did start reading his book and there seems to be a lot of good info in there. So in my Anthony Morrison review, he has something to offer but I would look to find his book used somewhere and go with that.
As for his website he offers, well there is not much there. Most of the affiliates don’t have big payouts and he takes a big cut from you. Example, Worlds Foods, they offer 8% of the sales if you sign up direct. If you go A.M.’s site you only get 4.5%. And like I said there isn’t much there, you better to go with something like Clickbank or others similar.
My Click Bank Link;
http://bones37.thecbcode.hop.clickbank.net/So after a bit of searching I came across Free Site Signup. I found this company, so far, to be very helpful. They offer a free sign up, but I’ll be honest there is not much there. However, it only costs about $100 a year and they give you a $100 credit to start, so nothing lost. It seems to be the same thing PMI was offering, but way cheaper. Freesitesginup.com has a bunch of different things to market and sites already set up for you to use or alter them if you wish. These sites are supposed to be ready to go and make money if you do not alter them. I’m not at the point of advertising yet but they do seem sound. I’ll update when I do advertise.
They have a ton of videos that walk you through every step. I have found these to be worth the price thus far. It does take some work though. I thought I’d be up and running in a few days. It’s been a week and I’m about half way to having a site up and running. Also the customer service has been great so far.
Once you sign up its $8 for the first month (trial) then the $100 kicks in. Now during the training they have it set up in weeks. Meaning week 1 training ,2,3,4 (Advertising starts), extra training for week 5,6. You might question as I did, since they will not unlock each week until a 7 day time from the last week’s training has passed, that you have to stay for a year since you don’t get all the info needed until week 4. When I brought this up, they were happy to unlock them all to allow me to progress faster if I wanted to. I thought this was a good sign. I’ve found them to be the best affiliate marketing group so far. There were a couple others I looked at but they seemed too scamy for me and I honestly don’t remember the names. I looked at them very briefly.
Well that’s my ramblings so far. I’m not a professional writer so excuse my blog for its rawness.
Thoughts?
Jason
